NY vehicle explosion at Rainbow Bridge border crossing is attempted terror attack: sources

The FBI is investigating a vehicle explosion Wednesday at the Rainbow Bridge border crossing between the U.S. and Canada in what sources tell Fox News' Alexis McAdams was an attempted terrorist attack.
Explosives were in the vehicle at the time and two people who were in the car are dead, the sources told Fox News' Alexis McAdams. A border officer was injured.
The vehicle was driving from the U.S. to Canada and were attempting to drive toward the border officer building, the sources said.
All bridges are closed in the area, and all government buildings are evacuated, according to the sources.

This isn't an attempted terror attack. It is a terror attact that successfully shut down all border crossing in western NY, one of the busiest border-crossing spots on the US-Canada border, on one of the busiest travel days of the year. Two of the goals of terrorism are fear and disruption. This achieves those goals.

Fox's Alexis McAdams is now reporting that the car could have been stolen, and that the massive explosion could have been caused by the gas tank in the vehicle and not necessarily explosive devices; undoubtedly, law enforcement officials will eventually determine the answers to those questions.

Thirty Israeli children who have been held captive in Gaza since the October 7 massacre are among the fifty hostages expected to be released as part of a temporary ceasefire and prisoner exchange. Some of these children are now orphans because their parents were slaughtered by Hamas terrorists during the massacre, leaving the Israeli soldiers rescuing the children in the position of having to answer some difficult questions.
IDF soldiers taking part in the rescue mission have been instructed to be extra careful when dealing with the young hostages. If the youngsters ask about their parents, the soldiers are advised to answer, "Sorry sweetie, I don’t know. My job is to bring you to a safe place. There are people there whom you know, who will answer your questions." The soldiers are likely to know the fates of the parents, so it will undoubtedly be heartbreaking for them to deal with these questions.
